Australian cricket legends John Buchanan and Paul Wilson are expected to hold high-performance camps and coaching clinics for underprivileged children in Zimbabwe next month.
Buchanan and Wilson’s visit was facilitated by (Grassroots Cricket), a charity organisation that has been harnessing the power of cricket to help transform young lives in Zimbabwe by providing life coaches, life skills and essential support.
Grassroots Cricket founder Tawanda Karasa said the coaching clinic will provide high-end skills transfer and international standards of coaching to student athletes. At the same time, Zimbabwean students will be exposed to Australian cricket culture, opportunities for scholarships and links to Australian cricket clubs.
“I can safely confirm that the two cricket legends are coming to Zimbabwe.
“This was made possible by us as the Grassroots cricket community as well as our partners, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, Nyaradzo and many more ,who are helping us to develop cricket in Zimbabwe and making the sport available to underprivileged students. I hope that these partnerships will be instrumental in the development of cricket in Zimbabwe,” he said.
The coaching clinics will be held in Harare and Bulawayo from August 15 till August end.
